A solid wooden or slate board. I personally like dark wood pizza paddles.

Salty Meats! Prosciutto, salami, sopressata, chorizo, smithfield country ham or mortadella
Best Cheese for Charcuterie Board
Cheese! My personal favorites are Midnight Moon, Bella Vittano, Herbed Goat Cheese. I love incorporating goat and sheep’s milk cheese, and I actually prefer them over cow’s milk cheeses.
Be sure to include a soft, semi-soft, semi-hard, and a hard cheese.

Salty Acidic Items: think olives, cornichon pickles, olive tapenade, bleu cheese stuffed olives, marinated mushrooms, artichokes (also found at the olive bar at Whole Foods)

Dried fruits: apricots, figs
Best Nuts for Charcuterie Board
Nuts: almonds, marcona almonds, cashews Spreads: apricot spread, chutney, fresh wild local honey, tapenade, fig jam, pepper jelly

- Get a variety of every ingredient you will put on your charcuterie board dessert
- Use small bowls for dips and first arrange the dip bowls on charcuterie dessert board
- Arrange the larger cookies and candies around dip bowls on holiday dessert charcuterie board
- Now put small candies and small items in the gaps and empty spaces available on simple dessert charcuterie board, you can stack small items if you run out of space
