The World’s Best Beaches

Lying on the beach, soaking up the sun and occasionally dipping your toes in the surf is most people’s idea of the perfect paradise holiday. Add a cool, tropical cocktail and you might find it difficult to get on a plane and go home!

But, if you are a true connoisseur of beach holidays, you will know that some beaches are far superior to others. So, pack your snorkel, sun lotion and camo swimsuit because these 3 beaches are the ones you should visit as soon as possible.

Pink Beaches

Your Instagram feed will love you for holidaying on a pink beach. The sand is made up of pink corals and shells, slowly ground down over time, which contrasts beautifully with the turquoise sea. Harbor Island in the Bahamas is one of the most famous pink beaches in the world but you can also find pink beaches on the Greek island of Crete, the Indonesian island of Lombok and Great Santa Cruz in the Philippines.

But if there is one pink beach you will love, it is Pink Beach in Barbuda. This beach is wide and broad and though there is some white sand in patches, the pink stretches are amazingly pink.

Party Beaches

If you are an active traveller who likes to explore cities, you probably won’t be looking for a week of lying down. Instead, a party beach could be more up your street! And there are plenty of choices to consider from Miami to Thailand.

The best party beaches offer you a chance to let go and unwind and no island is quite like Ibiza for this. With plenty of party opportunities, Ibiza is already a top destination for a week of dancing but it also has a laid-back feel that combines bo-ho chic with plenty of time for spa days. Many of the world’s best DJs congregate on Ibiza throughout the summer so if you have a favorite act, this is the perfect place to be.

Family Beaches

There is nothing quite like a family trip to the beach. All you need is a bucket and spade plus a towel and you and the kids can have fun all day. Of course, the best family beaches are the ones with plenty of amenities within a short walk without ruining the sense of paradise. Ideally, a family hotel on the beachfront is what you want.

The USA – particularly Florida and California – is brilliant for family beach holidays and there are plenty of hotels along the front that will accommodate kids well. Both states are also full of entertainment opportunities the whole family will love so you won’t have time to get bored. However, there are plenty of destinations around the world to consider too. If you are travelling with young children, it is definitely worth looking at the closest beaches to you so that you don’t have to endure a long haul flight.

Everyone loves a beach holiday and whether you want to relax in the sun, party all night long or have fun with your family, there’s a destination for you.
