If you haven’t already, then this should be a priority for the early summer weeks. As the summer gets warmer and warmer you’ll soon be regretting not having your air conditioning serviced, either by a professional or by yourself. If you have a unit that sits on your window it may be easier to clean it yourself and any problems that arise can be looked up online or referred back the manufacturer. If you need to buy a new unit at this point you can. You can also get most servicing instructions from the manufacturer’s instructions. If you have a central air system then a professional service may be the better option to keep it running smoothly and efficiently.
Check For Any Pest Problems
Pests come in all shapes and sizes and can be a real nuisance for people when they are coming to enjoy their gardens in the summertime. It’s a good idea to run a full check for any problems you may have. Things such as ants, spiders, and mots which are fairly common you should be able to sort out yourself but others may require you to call Pest Control. Make sure you don’t deal with any animals or insects that could be dangerous, it’s always best to have professionals deal with anything you are unsure about.
This maintenance job is definitely one for the summer. With the long hours of sunshine and the nice weather to empty the contents out into it make sit ideal and easier. You should try and make it a yearly job as cleaning it every will help to increase its life span. Peoples garages often go neglected of care when really there is no need. Think about all the projects you complete in there, cutting tiles, cleaning the car, sawing wood and many and now think about the dust, bits, and dirt that creates. It’s a good idea to try and empty the contents give it a once over and wipe down anything you’re putting back into it. While your doing this it also gives you the chance to have a sort through any junk that’s managed to sneak its way into storage that you just don’t need.
Deck and Patio
Whether you have a deck, patio or both this is something that will definitely be worth repairing as you go along. If you come across a loose board or slab or a post that is a little bent fix it. Don’t wait for it to break completely, it could save you a lot of money in the future as if you leave it to get worst you could end up needing to replace the whole thing. Most years you will find that all it needs is a good wash and maybe the deck needs a new coat of stain so looking after these shouldn’t be too difficult. If you have a pool then this would be a good time to check and see if any tiles need replacing as this has the same principle.
Inspect The Exterior Of Your House
Your house goes through a lot in the winter months so if you haven’t already started these in the summer you should really be doing them now before anything gets worst in the next fall and winter. Have a good look around your home and inspect it for any chipped paint, damaged to the woodwork, foundation cracks, leaking pipes and any roofing problems such as missing tiles. Again performing repair jobs and fixing a small problem can save you a lot of money in the long run. Fixing a few tiles on your roof or a leak in a pipe is going to be a hell of a lot cheaper than needing a whole roof or new piping altogether. Although sometimes these can’t be avoided.
