Time Travel to New Hampshire and My 34th Birthday

I turned 34 today…

birthdays make me depressed.

I sometimes feel like I should be somewhere different.  Like I’m not doing enough.  Like I’m not in the right place or with the right people.  And my birthday makes me think about these things even more.  Another year has passed…

I decided this year I was going to make a change.  That I was going to look at my life differently.  It was not necessarily my life that was the issue, it was my perception of what it should look like.

And when I look back on my life, which I tend to do on my birthday…I think about all the great adventures I’ve had…

And I can’t wait to make as many adventures as I can starting my 34th year…

my birthdays also make me time travel to New Hampshire…where I grew up.

they bring back some painful and wonderful memories all at the same time…

my mother has apparently figured out how to take pictures of old photos with her iphone.

she sent me this one on my birthday…

I cried for a few hours…

This is a picture of my mother and I shortly after I was born….I was cute, hairy little thing:)

My adorable sister, Robyn was born two years later.  It was like I sudden got a real life baby doll and I held her like this all the time.  I used to take her everywhere with me.  I even threw her out the second floor window…twice…

she survived:)

This is us in the parking lot at Ruggles Mine, my family’s business in New Hampshire. Isn’t she so cute?

My chubby blonde baby doll…

we used to vacation every year in Arizona.  My dad had a fascination with Native Americans, so we would visit the reservations and go camping for several days.  He caught these wild horses for us, made some make-shift halters and away we went.

And I will remember this day forever…

It is one of my fondest memories…

and this was us at the Danbury parade.  mom dressed us up in these cute little dresses and put us in the back of the carriage.

we were such rednecks:)

my dad used to put our horse in the back of his pick-up truck.  her name was Bonnie.  she was the best horse ever…
