Italian Wine Dinner and the Greatest Friends on Earth…

Pucci called me on Friday night and says, so there’s this wine dinner at Fin and we are going….first course is served promptly at 7:30…don’t be late

clearly, you don’t have to twist my arm for a good wine dinner…

Fin is the seafood restaurant in my neighborhood.  You could say we are “regulars”…meaning you can find us there 3-4 nights a week. they take good care of us and we think of them like family…they are good people…

they planned this amazing 5 course wine dinner featuring wines from Monsieur Touton Selection, a wholesaler out of NYC.  Our sommelier, Jean-Francois Deschamps, was one of the best I’ve ever seen.  He told these amazing stories about each wine as our courses came out.  He has a thick french accent…so cool…

here are all the girls with Chef Kenny Sloane Jr.  he is super talented and creative…wins all kinds of awards…

and he does photo ops with us too:) as you can tell, us girls love a good photo op…we call ourselves the Real Housewives of Port Warwick… I know it’s goofy, but we have to come up with things to entertain ourselves…

now on to our dinner….

Osso Bucco…Braised Veal Shank, local wadesmill polenta, nobles finishing vinegar, micro parsley…paired with Zardinia Amarone Della Valpolicella, Classico

Squid ink oil poached salmon, butterbean agnolotti, braised artichoke, maitake mushroom, micro arugula… Paired with lecciaua Orvieto, Classico

I know, squid ink…so they apparently take a syringe and suck the squid ink out of the octopus and poach the salmon in an oil very briefly.  basically served raw.  and it was perfection…

House made potato gnocchi, runny local egg, pancetta, truffle cream sauce, sautéed spinach, fresh shaved truffles, micro fennel..paired with Gavi do Gavi

this was my favorite dish.  the egg was basically raw, paired with the salty crispy pancetta…truffles…it was ridiculous…

Chilled Seafood Salad-Smoked Cobia, poached shrimp & mussels, couscous , kalmata, red peppers, heirloom tomatoes, saffron vinaigrette, micro basil… Paired with Villa Jolanda Prosecco

we were discussing at dinner how happy we all were…making the best of where we are, with what we have, at every moment…we surround ourselves with amazing people. eat amazing food and laugh like there’s no tomorrow. that is what makes for a good life…and these girls get it…and I love them for it.
